Picnicking at Hickory Run State Park
A large picnic area is near Sand Spring Lake which has a swimming beach, disc golf, and orienteering. There are hundreds of picnic tables, grills, restrooms, playground equipment, drinking water, and trash containers. A food concession stand is open during the summer season.
A picnic pavilion may be reserved up to 11 months in advance for a fee. If unreserved it is free on a first-come, first-served basis.
