Boating at Cowans Gap State Park
Electric motors only; slow, no-wake speed
There are two boat launches and many mooring spaces on 42-acre Cowans Gap Lake.
Gas-powered engines are prohibited.
Boat Registration
Motorboats must display a current boat registration. Non-powered boats must display one of the following:
- Boat registration
- Launch permit or mooring permit from Pennsylvania state parks -- available at most state park offices
- Launch permit from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission
Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission regulations and laws apply.
Boat Rental
A boating concession in the day-use area is open daily during the summer and rents:
- Rowboats
- Kayaks
- Paddle boats
- Paddle boards
