Camping

Flush toilets, warm showers, electric hook-ups

This beautiful woodland campground has approximately 80 campsites, modern restrooms, water at convenient hydrants, and a sanitary dump station.

The campground is open from mid-April to mid-December. Winter access cannot be guaranteed and can be checked by contacting the park office.

Pets are permitted at designated campsites.

Free Camping for Campground Hosts

One host position -- Contact the park office to be added to the waiting list

Campground host site amenities include 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer hookup. Free firewood is provided when available.

Hosts are required to be available to assist park personnel and visitors 24-hours daily. The minimum stay is for a two-week period.

Contact the park office for additional information, host guidelines including expected duties, and availability.

Backpacking

Chapman State Park serves as a trailhead for backpacking trails on adjoining public lands.

Map and trail information is available from the park office.

Free parking is available at the park for those who would rather not leave their vehicles along public roadways.

Camping Cottages

Five cottages sleep five people in bunk beds and have:

  • Wooden floors
  • Windows
  • Table and chairs
  • Electric heat
  • Porch
  • Picnic table
  • Fire ring
  • Electric lights and outlets

This activity or structure is ADA accessible. Cottage #1 is ADA accessible.

Up to two dogs are permitted in Cottage #1 for a fee.

Yurts

These round, canvas, and wood-walled tents have a wooden deck and sleep six people in two bunk beds and a double bed.

Yurts have:

  • Stove top
  • Microwave oven
  • Refrigerator
  • Countertop
  • Table and chairs
  • Electric heat
  • Electric lights and outlets
  • Fire ring
  • Picnic table
  • Adjacent to a water pump

This activity or structure is ADA accessible. Yurt #1 is ADA accessible.

Organized Group Tenting

This rustic camping area is available for rent to adult and youth groups year round.

The area has:

  • Fire rings
  • Picnic tables
  • Nearby restrooms

Water is available at the park office, the hydrant at Pavilion #1, and in the campground during camping season.

Advanced reservations are required.
